Medicine Electronics and Special Instruments


We offer instruments and/or extensive technological support for medicine-technical enterprises and clinicians.  We cover thereby in particular the engineer activities in  the range of electronics, radiation technology (optics, ultrasonic and/or RF) and mechanics.  An overview of our performance  is represented by the following example projects. These reflect mostly the ideas of our customers and clinical practice, which we converted to close- to-series prototypes or even to production scale.

Electro-Acoustic Supervision of Implanted Prostheses

Various types of heart valve  prosthesis
Thrombus
A dangerous thrombus has been formed on this valve. Therefore this prosthesis had to be replaced in an extensive surgery.

Handgerät
This hand-held device detects thrombs on heart valves in an early stadium. Thus a surgery can frequently be avoided.
Platine
The device is based on DSP technology .
The system carries out a non-invasive test of implantetd prostheses. The characteristic noise of the prosthesis in action is picked up and analized with DSP technology. Wear or dangerous deviations are detected in an early stadium.

On the other hand a specific sound signal is injected into the body and the characteristic "echo" of a prosthesis  is derived and analized.

The  methods are sensitive and selective.

Temperature Test of Patients with Urtikaria

This  device applies a very defined temperature profile to the human skin. The temperature range is from 0 °C to 50 °C.

Ultrasound Systems

4 MHz Doppler signal of blood flow  in the aorta.

Heart resonance analysis in the range of  5 - 30 kHz provides information  (Ejektion ratio, relative contraction, size) about the heart geometry and heart motion itself.

Hüftoperation
Hip Prosthesis: The proper angular orientation of the implants is of high importance for the success of the surgery.
The 3-D navigation system strongly supports the surgeon in keeping the right direction.

Catheter Prototypes

These catheters provide chemical agents, vacuum and some heat for urological treatment.
